Steel protection in MMC cables – strong support for demanding installations
The MMC U/FTP cat. 6A cable and the new LSZH-B2ca fiber optic cable with a multi-tube structure are two products that have one thing in common – steel protective tape, which is a real advantage in difficult installation conditions.
Why is it worth choosing cables with steel tape?
- Rodent resistance
In production halls, tunnels, warehouses and transport infrastructure, rodents pose a real threat to cables – their activity can lead to serious failures. Steel tape is a physical barrier that they are unable to overcome.
- Reinforced mechanical resistance
The MMC U/FTP 525 MHz cat. 6A CPR-Dca cable, thanks to a 0.2 mm thick steel tape and a thick PE jacket, withstands crushing up to 500 N. It works great where the cable is exposed to point pressure, pulling in tight spaces or intensive use. In turn, the LSZH-B2ca optical fiber with a maximum pulling force of 1800 N and crush resistance up to 3000 N/dm is a reliable operation even on long, difficult cable routes.
- Investment security
Securing cabling at the design stage is a small cost compared to potential losses resulting from production downtime or transmission system failures. Cables with steel tape minimize this risk.
- Durability for years
Increased resistance to micro-damage and environmental factors means that installations using these cables will operate reliably for a long time, reducing the need for repairs and service.
Steel tape cables are not yet widely known on the market, so it is worth considering their use at the design stage now - before the need for expensive repairs and replacement of damaged cabling arises.
