Stadium at Reymonta street in Cracow, which has been a place of football matches since 1953, mainly involving Wisla Krakow / "White Star". The facility can accommodate over 33 thousands of spectators during matches of different significance and rank and during any other mass events.
- Video monitoring
- VMS CCTV – VDG Sense platform
- Edge-Core active devices
- MMC structural cabling
The mandatory image recording during mass events, especially in the sectors for the participants and the infield or stage meant that it was necessary to completely replace the video monitoring on the stadium. In addition, to meet the high requirements of the law regarding the image quality in particular zones, the standard resolution cameras, including analogue ones, had to be replaced with digital ones. Installed cameras met the law requirements such as monitoring of the entire infield without the possibility to install the camera on it.
A real challenge for this project was to build a proper topology of connections between the 14 distribution points spread over 4 stands. The use of the skeleton of the double star topology using 43 10Gbps links, built on the basis of switches from Edge-Core Networks enabled the efficient and effective management of nearly 500 cameras.
The project of the new installation took care of every detail by repeated verification of the correctness of the arrangement of each camera point, so the CCTV IP system, based on DIVA platform met all the safety requirements that are determined for such systems, installed mainly on sports facilities where events involving a large number of fans take place.
Why VDG Sense platform?
VDG Sense is an example of a system dedicated to work in the applications of a distributed structure and with a large number of actuators. Objects characterized by such working environment are among others stadiums or public transport infrastructure, where the need for the co-existence of different types of installation makes the choice of each of them should not be a matter of chance.
- fully definable and an intuitive user’s interface,
- fast upload of images to other operators,
- search for events with the use of advanced criteria filter,
- an effective integration with other safety systems;
- proven and stable network infrastructure,
- secure network to work with IP CCTV devices,
- low total cost of network operation.
The realization of this project was both challenge and great pleasure for our team. We are all richer for another experience, and the facility has gained new system of monitoring which is implemented taking into account the future standards and which makes fans and spectators of matches or other cultural and entertaining events feel safer. One of the most interesting tasks, other than the part associated with active devices, was the design of all structures accompanying to individual camera points. The example could be pillars at the playing field level or boxes installed on light poles located within the parking lots area.
